Now that the new year is here, it’s the perfect time to get everything tidy and organized before spring cleaning begins in a couple months. But with all of our money spent on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year celebrations, we find ourselves needing a be a little more frugal when it comes to organizing.

Believe me when I tell you that you really don’t need to rush out to the store to buy endless boxes and crates. I promise you can organize everything in your home with things you already have. Once you know where to start, it’s easy!

Today, I’m sharing 14 frugal ways to organize under $15. Hope you find these tips useful!

Kitchen

How to Organize a Small Fridge

Need to organize your home on a budget but have no idea where to start? Don't panic! Here are 14 frugal ways to organize under $15 | Ask Anna

Is your fridge so small that you struggle to fit everything in? We went from having a humongous fridge to one that is much smaller with a lot less depth. I really had to think outside the box to fit everything in, but I managed it! The answer, yet again, is baskets. Each basket has it’s own category and helps me keep the fridge looking clean and organized. Get your small fridge sorted with this easy trick!

Stop Water Bottles Falling Over

Need to organize your home on a budget but have no idea where to start? Don't panic! Here are 14 frugal ways to organize under $15 | Ask Anna

Okay, you might be sick of baskets now… but they’re just SO useful for literally anything when it comes to organizing! This time, I’m using them to organize water bottles and plastic cups and stop the pesky things from falling over in the drawer. No more re-arranging them because they’ve fallen all over the place!

Under the Kitchen Sink

Need to organize your home on a budget but have no idea where to start? Don't panic! Here are 14 frugal ways to organize under $15 | Ask Anna

We’ve looked at how to organize under the bathroom sink, but how about the kitchen? There’s so much stuff to fit under there, including cleaning products, sponges, dishwasher tablets and more. Luckily, there are some perfectly-sized containers to organize everything so you can quickly find what you need. Find out how to do it!

The Easiest Way to Organize Tupperware Lids

Need to organize your home on a budget but have no idea where to start? Don't panic! Here are 14 frugal ways to organize under $15 | Ask Anna

Tupperware lids are probably one of the most annoying things to store. You can stack your storage containers but what do you do with all the loose lids? The solution is easier than you might think… all you’ll need is a medium-sized basket from your local dollar store! I set my basket on the shelf and then I store all the lids upright in the basket. Get those annoying lids under control!

Bathroom

Under the Bathroom Sink

Need to organize your home on a budget but have no idea where to start? Don't panic! Here are 14 frugal ways to organize under $15 | Ask Anna

Under the bathroom sink is a place that a lot of us struggle to keep organized. We are in and out of there multiple times a day, grabbing lotion, makeup, mouthwash, etc. And I’m sure you get frustrated knocking items over each time you reach in to grab something, am I right? Here’s an affordable way to keep it organized.

Organizing Bathroom Drawers

Need to organize your home on a budget but have no idea where to start? Don't panic! Here are 14 frugal ways to organize under $15 | Ask Anna

Unless you’re looking for something specific, you may not look in your bathroom drawers very often. This was the case with my daughter’s bathroom – I looked in the drawers and realized how messy they were! In a few quick and easy (and affordable!) steps, I made sure everything was tidy and had its own place. Try these tips yourself!

Kids

Organizing Kids Clothes and Toys

Need to organize your home on a budget but have no idea where to start? Don't panic! Here are 14 frugal ways to organize under $15 | Ask Anna

My favorite items ever from IKEA are the SKUBB organizers. They’re so useful, I have one in practically every drawer in my house. I find they’re especially useful for organizing my daughter’s clothes and toys in her room. The organizers make sure everything has its own place and goes away tidily. Come and see the different ways you can use them!

Organize Kids Snack Food

Need to organize your home on a budget but have no idea where to start? Don't panic! Here are 14 frugal ways to organize under $15 | Ask Anna

Here’s another useful kitchen tip. I always like the look of glass jars in a pantry, each with a different item in, but in my house it’s just not practical. Instead, I use the boxes that the products come in to help me keep things tidy. My daughter’s snacks and lunchbox items could get super messy, but with the help of some trusty baskets and jars, it can all be organized and easy to find!

Organize Kids Art Supplies

Need to organize your home on a budget but have no idea where to start? Don't panic! Here are 14 frugal ways to organize under $15 | Ask Anna

When your kids want to get all of those art and craft supplies, at the time, it can seem like such a brilliant idea. A couple hours of peace while they explore their creativity – what could be better?! But then you remember that you have to clear it all up afterwards… oh no! Don’t panic – there’s actually a really easy way to organize it using plastic boxes and labels. It’s so simple that your kids can put it all away themselves – hooray!

Hi, Susan here from Organized 31.  I’m happy to be sharing tip #15 in Anna’s series 15 ways to get organized for less than $15.

15 Ways to get organized for under $15 - Ask Anna

I’m all about organizing projects that make a big difference and are inexpensive and today I’m sharing an easy and low-cost way to organize your purse.

How to Organize Your Purse & Eliminate Receipt Clutter

As a busy mom of 3, my purse has often been a big heavy mess.  A couple of years ago, I committed to only using a smaller size purse to keep me from carry too much stuff.  Keeping my small purse organized is vital in making it work for me.

How to Organize Your Purse & Eliminate Receipt Clutter

Many moms struggle with the organizing challenge of what to do with the piles of receipts and coupons that we carry in our purses.  I have found that carrying store coupons in my purse saves me money.  Nothing is more frustrating that realizing your store coupon is at home as you’re standing at the checkout counter.   It’s also been a big help for returns and checking my credit card statements to have store receipts organized in my purse and easy to find.

How to Organize Your Purse & Eliminate Receipt Clutter

The key is this simple plastic envelope that you can find at an office supply store.  It only costs a couple of dollars.  If you watch the summer office supply sales, you may be able to pick one up for $.25 (I grabbed several last summer at that great price).

Organize Your Purse - Organized 31

You want an envelope that has 2 pockets.  A bigger envelope with more pockets just becomes a paper clutter magnet (and adds more unnecessary weight to your purse).

Organize Your Purse - Organized 31

It couldn’t be much easier.  It’ll take you about 3 minutes to set this envelope up in your purse.  Each Sunday, take 2 minutes to remove expired coupons, add new coupons and remove any receipts that you should file.  This simple envelope has been a big help in organizing my purse.

15 Ways to get organized for under $15

There are so many great, affordable organizing products that I love, and every time I use them I wish I could give them away to all my readers. I’d love to have a big Ask Anna Christmas Giveaway, Oprah style, where I gather all my readers from around the world, and give them tons of my favorite organizing products. Wouldn’t that be awesome!? Unfortunately I don’t have Oprah-size connections so I can’t pull that off, but I am excited to share some of my favorite products with you today and giveaway one of the items at the end!!!

My favorite organizing products under $15 - Ask Anna

In putting together this round-up I really thought through everything I chose. These aren’t just fancy/cool things that looked like everyone should own, these are all things I personally own and use in my own home. Many I’ve written about in this month’s series 15 ways to get organized for less than $15. And in keeping with the theme and affordability of the series, all but 2 of these items are under $15. There’s nothing more depressing to me than seeing a pretty and organized room on Pinterest and then adding up how much it would actually cost me to replicate it. 🙁 I like inexpensive and practical organizing ideas that everyone can afford to do in their own homes! So without further ado, here is my list of favorite organizing items.

DVD sleeves

You won’t believe how much space you’ll save when you organize your DVDs with these! See how I used them HERE.

DVD storage sleeves

Sliding basket

I have a basket similar to this in our pantry (mine is a little bigger). Having a sliding basket makes it so much easier to access your items and keep things organized, and these are a great deal! You could use them in the kitchen, bathroom or even the office!

Glass jars

These glass jars are great for organizing in the pantry, under the sink, in your craft room and more (click on each to see how I used them).

Chalkboard labels

I use these in my pantry and in the past I’ve used them to label storage boxes in our closet and to organize my paint cans.

3M hooks

I use these for all sorts of things in my house. I use them to organize my pot lids, hang up the loofas in our showers, and tons more!

Plastic bin with lid

I love these clean plastic bins! I use them to organize my wax scents in our TV console, I use them to organize our checks, and in the past I’ve used them to organize items in our closet.

Multi-colored hanging files

You can see how I use these to organize all our personal paperwork HERE. They are functional and really pretty at the same time. It makes staying organized more fun!

Clear containers with snap lid

I used these plastic containers to organize all our medical stuff, check out that post HERE (it’s one of my most popular posts!).

Space saving vacuum bags

I use these vacuum bags to store all of our unused comforters, blankets, pillows, etc., when I change them out for the seasons. They save so much space and keep the moths out!

Wire basket with Chalkboard

I love these baskets from Walmart, they are super affordable and they look fantastic on my bookshelves.

Here’s the large version (it’s still less than $15!!)

Glass spice bottles

I love having all my spices in glass bottles because they look nice and they are easy to organize. See mine HERE.

Drawer Divider Set

I’ll be honest, I have yet to purchase some of these, but they are ON MY LIST! My utensil drawer badly needs them because it most definitely does not look like this one! 🙂

Storage Grater

This is another one of my most favorite kitchen items. It’s a grater that can also be used to store items after you’ve grated them. I bought one ages ago and I still love it every SINGLE time I use it!

Shelf Organizers

I love these shelf organizers because they give you a little extra shelf space when you need it. I have one under my bathroom sink and my friend uses them to organize the cupboards in her kitchen.

School Memory boxes

This product is just over $15, but totally worth the cost! Get all your kids school work organized with this set of 6, you can read about how I organized my friend’s kids’ school work them HERE.

Skubb drawer organizers

I use these in almost every drawer in our house! I have them in the bathrooms, each of our dressers and my craft cupboard! See how I use them for drawer organization in our old house, see how I use them to organize my daughter’s dresser in our current house.

Organizables

Okay, this is a treat. I did a review for Organizables almost 3 years ago and I still love them!  I use them almost every week to organize what my daughter is going to wear for school that week. They save us so much time and eliminate any fuss over outfits early in the morning. They sell for $34.99 and are worth EVERY PENNY! So, yes, these are over $15 but because you’re an Ask Anna reader you get to save 10% by using the code “AskAnna” when you check out.

There you have it, all my favorite organizing items for less than $15! I can’t wait to hear what you will be organizing first now that you have this list of affordable items!

But there’s more good news! Today I’m excited to give away 2 sets to 2 lucky winners! I emailed Organizables and told them how much I still loved mine and asked if I could give a couple sets away to my readers so they could fall in love too! So today I’m giving away a Boys Set and and Girls Set and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it!!!

Welcome to day #13 of 15 ways to get organized for less than $15! Today I’m sharing how I keep my daughter’s drawers organized with my favorite thing from IKEA, the SKUBB drawer organizers.

15 Ways to get organized for under $15 - Ask Anna

I don’t think it’s possible to express how much I love the SKUBB drawer organizers. I seriously have them in almost every drawer in our house, except in the kitchen. I love that you get an entire pack of 6 for $7.99 (which means you can buy 2 on our $15 budget!) and that they fit together like a puzzle in a drawer.

I discovered these drawer organizers when we were setting up my daughter’s room before she was born. We bought her dresser at IKEA and I thought these would be the perfect thing for organizing the items within the drawer. I was right, and I still use them to this day, to organize her clothes and toys.

Easy tips for organizing kids clothes and toys - Ask Anna

I believe that if we want to teach our kids how to be organized that we have to set them up for success. Using these drawer organizers I am able to organize my daughter’s PJs, underwear, bloomers, socks, tights and swim suits, all in a way that’s easy for her to get them out and put them back herself.

Organzing a kids dresser with SKUBB organizers from IKEA - Ask Anna

In the winter her swim suits are in the back of the drawer but in the summer I move them forward, and her socks to the back. I’ve seen lots of unorganized kids drawers but believe it or not this is so easy to set up and for kids to maintain. I do the same thing with her toy drawer.

This drawer gets messy from time to time but it’s usually just when we add new toys, like after Christmas or a birthday. She actually likes having her toys organized with the SKUBB boxes because it’s easy for her to find what she’s looking for!

All her Barbies, stuffed animals and dolls are in bins in her closet but this drawer does a great job at keeping all the small toys organized.

If you want to see how I used the SKUBB boxes to organize my top dresser drawer, you can see that post HERE. It also shows how I used to organize Malea’s clothes with them, before she got so tall!

It’s day 12 of 15 ways to get organized for less than $15! We are getting close to the end, but there still so much good stuff to come! Today we’re talking about organizing under the bathroom sink for less than $15.

15 Ways to get organized for under $15 - Ask Anna

I feel like I can safely say that under the bathroom sink is a place that a lot of us struggle to keep organized. We are in and out of there multiple times a day, grabbing lotion, makeup, face wash, mouth wash, etc. And I’m sure you get frustrated knocking items over each time you reach in to grab something, am I right? That’s why today I’m going to show you my super easy, and affordable way that I keep under my bathroom sink organized.

How to organize under the bathroom sink - Ask Anna

Let me break it down for you. In the back of the cupboard I used a shelf riser to give me extra space. On top of it I have a basket from the Dollar Tree with all my manicure items – polishes, files, polish remover, etc.

How to organize under the bathroom sink - Ask Anna

Under that I have a little tin from the $1 bins at Target, that holds all my empty makeup containers from MAC and Lush. I save them and when I take them all in I get free stuff!

The majority of the cupboard is taken up by a clear drawer organizer that I use to organize the rest of my items. Let me break it down for you.

Affordable tips for organizing under the bathroom sink - Ask Anna

Each row is organized by a category and the front row are the things I use the most often. I do use the denture cleaners daily, to clean my retainer, but I like having them in the back, out of the way. The nice thing about the drawer organizer is that it keeps things from falling over when I reach into grab something.

Affordable tips for organizing under the bathroom sink - Ask Anna

I bump things all the time when I reach in the back to get something, but nothing ever falls over, which makes me super happy. The organizer also keeps me really organized (good thing, huh?) because I know right where to put something back when I’m done with it. Having everything so organized makes it easy to know when I’m running out of something and it makes it easy for tell my daughter or husband where to find something, if they need it.

Affordable tips for organizing under the bathroom sink - Ask Anna

The big space on the right is where I keep my makeup bag (which is also very organized and I should right a post about it). It’s easy to get in and out of the cupboard, which gives me no excuse to leave it out on the counter. I dream about having a vanity some day but for now this works well for me.

How do you keep under your bathroom sink organized, or are you constantly knocking things over when you reach in to grab something? I found a few drawer organizers, similar to mine, on Amazon, if you’d like to get under your sink organized – here’s a black one, a silver mesh organizer, and a clear one, like mine, all under $15 and free shipping with Prime! Happy organizing!

Join me next week as I wrap up the series with 3 more great organizing tips for less than $15!!! To start back at the beginning of the series, click HERE.
